We Watched A Thing (Formerly Bears on Film) is a weekly podcast in which best friends Billy and Topher, a visual effects artist and a cameraman, catch up to discuss a movie they watched that week.

With a wealth of film knowledge, a love of cinema, and a humorous style, find out what we've watched this week, and what we thought about it.

May 11, 2022

It’s my birthday, so to celebrate I’m throwing out movies other people think I should watch, and comforting myself with the British aristocracy! So join me as I get gifted a French villa, film a talkie, and have to beep more words than I ever have on this show before, all while talking about ‘Downton Abbey: A New Era’.

Downton Abbey: A New Era is a 2022 historical drama film and the sequel to the 2019 film Downton Abbey. Both films were written by Julian Fellowes, the creator and writer of the television series of the same name, with the sequel being directed by Simon Curtis, replacing Michael Engler who directed the first film. Downton Abbey: A New Era was released in the United Kingdom on 29 April 2022 by Universal Pictures and is scheduled to be released in the United States on 20 May by Focus Features.

We Watched A Thing is supported by Dendy Cinemas Canberra. The best Australian cinema chain showing everything from blockbusters to arthouse and indie films. Find them at https://www.dendy.com.au/
